A Truly Transcending Book For These Troubling Times

I thoroughly enjoyed reading and learning from this very well-thought-out and written book. As not just a reader, but as a fellow author, it is obvious to me that Matthew Heim is a person of "deepness." His book reflects this in that there are multitudes and layers of profound and critically important gold nuggets of insights and information designed to rattle the cage of your mind and take you to a new level of thinking and achievement. A vast majority of those in leadership positions in business and government should absolutely (not just read, but) study Dr. Heim's book. What struck me most about "Breaking the Musashi Code" was his most articulate and enlightening way he takes the concepts from the 17th century premier Japanese samurai warrior Miyamoto Musashi's "The Book of Five Rings" and wonderfully translates it with raw, powerful impact on how individuals and organizations can escape the imprisoning bounds of traditional thinking and activity and enter the exciting and incredibly freeing realm of the infinitely possible (or what he refers to Musashi's concept of "Ku" - untapped possibility). The book is a treasure-trove of ideas and techniques to help leaders to get away from focusing on their competitors, and, instead, to shift their focus from the battle to the winning outcome. It should be a must read for ALL MBA students, who, in my opinion, are being taught overly constrictive "how-to's" and formulas that limit the boundless opportunities Dr. Heim tells us are available if we just create the right visions, strategies and escape the rigid, choking world of perceived limits. As someone who has read perhaps hundreds of books on creativity, change, innovation and strategy, I was pleasantly surprised to find out just how much more I could learn from this book! As you read his wonderful work, your mind will open, your thoughts can be transformed and you will see things from a radically new perspective and dimension. That will help you to achieve much better results in WHATEVER you do. If you are (or want to become) a successful leader, "Breaking the Musahi Code" will mentally (and even emotionally, if you let it) catapult you into an elite class of more significance and contribution to the world. Great strategy for bringing your organization to the next level

Breaking the Musashi Code is a well written and practical primer for taking a business or organization to the next level. It stands out among business "self help" books by brilliantly blending the best of Western systems science with the Eastern teachings of legendary 16th Century Samurai master Miyamoto Musashi. The result is a bold new approach for visioning an organization to greatness. Rather than focusing on beating the competition, Breaking the Musashi code advocates creating a whole new culture of change and opportunity within organizations large and small. But it does more than just theorize about cutting edge institutional change. It offers useful, step-by-step guidelines for getting there. And the author clearly knows what he is talking about, having successfully advised large Fortune 500 companies all the way down to individual families using his new vision-based system. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and will immediately begin implementing its core concepts and strategies in my own work as a nonprofit consultant and small business owner. Top Notch Way to Create a Class of Your Own

This books represents an excellent approach to strategy development through "visioning". I find the ideas and approach enlightening and insightful. Most importantly, "Visionary Strategy" offers organizations of all sizes, as well as indivuduals, the chance to leapfrog the competition by creating a competitive class of their own. If applied correctly, this technique will leave everyone else in the dust. As a former strategy consultant and Senior Telecommunications industry executive I wish I had had this book a few years ago - it would have made a big difference... I will surely put it to good use now. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to make a difference in their company, community, and life!
