Breaking the Ice by Kay Gregory (Large Print Harlequin)

Sarah Malone had her heart broken at 17 by a cold-hearted older man who left town four days before their wedding, leaving behind a letter that revealed he had only promised to marry her so he could get her into bed. As a result she had decided not to get involved with any man ... the pain of loss was not worth the price of passion. Until Brett Jackson moved in next door ... and disturbed the quiet life she had built to protect her heart. I liked this book! Unlike the previous reviewer, I didn't find any of it confusing. This is not a very sexy book, and the love scenes are quiet and not earth shaking, but still enjoyable. I'd recommend if you like a more traditional-style romance book with heroines that are vulnerable and uncertain. If you're looking for a book about a strong self-sufficient woman who is happily single, then this is not the book for you!
