Bugs.

My 8 year old really enjoyed reading Breakout at the Bug Lab by Ruth Horowitz to me. As I studied Entomology in College he loves looking at bugs with me and this book really hit home. Two kids have a mom who works in a bug lab and has a pet cockroach. The roach escapes on a very important day and they must get it back. The plot is a bit predictable but still fun. It is a Dial Easy to Read book recommended as a reader for 2-3rd grade.

Nice book for boys and girls

breakout at the bug lab is a nice book for boys and girls-it is not a gross bug book but a story about problem solving and honesty. the book shows a female entymologist and two well meaning boys and their "oops" moment. we've given this as a gift several times all to great review-

Good Book

Breakout at the Bug Lab is a good story for young readers. It will build up their creativity and teach them a lesson. The lesson will teach children to make sure they finish a task completely before they walk away and something bad happens. I thought that the book was very interesting and fun to read because it is a story full of waiting for something to happen and I think that that is a very good attention getter. The book was so interesting that I was waiting anxiously to read the second chapter. It was very descriptive and specific that I knew exactly what the writer was talking about. It was very colorful and had very good drawings. It is a very good book and I think that children and adults would love reading it. It has a lot of beautiful coloring and it would be a very interesting book to read

A rare thing

This is something rare, a funny, contemporary easy reader with a clever plot, kid-friendly humor, and natural-sounding writing. (Most easy readers have three-word sentences and go chop-chop.) You don't have to like bugs to like it, but it doesn't hurt. Great for a parent and child to read aloud together, which is what I did with my 7-year-old.
