Should be titled: "Required Reading for Suits"

There are many agency executives who would be mortified by the thought of their client's reading this book. Why? Because they'd see what they're missing in terms of service and contribution to the client's business.Robert Solomon has taken a challenging, complex subject and presented it in a simplistic, actually fun-to-read style. And, while it's easily devoured, the smart reader will be challenged to digest the material and apply it to creating a more productive agency-client relationship. As a client, I've bought this book and given it to the account team at my agency. It's easily the best investment I've ever made. It's morphed some highly skilled, very talented vendors into highly skilled, very talented partners on the business. Here's hoping the next edition is a checklist for clients. We could sure use one.

Brain Surgery for Suits: A valuable tool

I have been in the agency business in many different capacities for 45 years and have seen many books on advertising. Brain Surgery for Suits by Robert Solomon sits on my bookshelf coincidentally right next to Confessions of an Advertising Man by David Ogilvy. Brain Surgery for Suits , in its checklist style, is a valuable workbook not only for account people but creatives alike. For that reason, it's required reading for key members of my staff.

An Insightful, Refreshing Read

I've read and re-read this book several times. In a world where agencies - particularly smaller ones - have no time to train Account people on things other than job-specific tasks, this is a great book to bring the importance of a total relationship with clients - and co-workers - into focus. I would recommend it as standard reading for anyone starting out in the agency business (or really any client-relationship business), and would also suggest that seasoned vets keep it close for periodic reference. A great read - quick, insightful, on the money.

A Book Every Suit Should Read

Excellent work. A fast and easy read that provides the helpful advice that I wish someone provided me earlier on. It's the type of book that every Account person should read - especially the part on presentation skills. Highly Recommended.

Brain Surgery for Suits

This book is right on the money--the simple stuff that is, obviously, hard to grasp for so many account people. Also a great read for creatives--there's a lot said here they could stand to hear and learn from (so many have little respect for suits!).As a small agency trying to do big things (and sometimes succeeding), we plan to use the book with staff and conduct some in-house training. (A great addition would be a workbook/training guide to bundle with the book to encourage others to train their people, too.)This is really great resource--a "must read" for someone new to the business and something that experienced AE's can use to stay on top of their game.
