The Sensitives, people utterly attuned to the thoughts of others, struggle to derail the bizarre plans of the head of the CIA, who has died of a brain tumor. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I just read that Mr. Burkholz passed away today and am very saddened -- I loved all three "Sensitives" books. They're intellectual thrillers about a group of people with some mighty interesting abilities, but with a nice touch of political intrigue (undoubtedly taken from Mr. Burkholz's own work in politics). Brain Damage is my favorite -- an intricate, elaborate plot; characters that you care about; side stories that could be the central plot of a lesser book. Highly recommended, and I'm so sad that we won't get a fourth one.

This book shows some good scenes and dialogue, and the insertion of interesting and unexpected characters makes the book fun to read. Why did this go out of print? I imagine he could have continued the series quite well.
