Fun and useful to have on hand

This book is great. It has home remedies for every imaginable ailment, and most of them have such a long list of different options that you can choose one based on what you have on hand. It's not something I use everyday, but it's great to have around in case of a sudden illness, rash, etc. I love that the "recipes" are natural, tried and true, grandma-taught cures, so I don't have to worry about risks or side effects. If I or a friend or family member have a mild to medium health/dermatological issue (or simply something that a doctor can't really do anything about- like sore muscles or bad breath) I always consult this book before buying any expensive pharmaceutical treatments (which, in my experience, are likely to be a waste of money anyway). I wouldn't pay thirty plus dollars for this book, but, for ten or twenty bucks, I definitely consider it a worthwhile purchase. Plus, when I bought it off of the tv infomercial, they included some bonus books for kitchen and household "cures". They're about half the size of the regular book, but contain a lot of really useful, easy to navigate information. Everything from what to look for when picking out different produce at the store, to the best way to pack for a vacation, to gardening tips and tricks. An awesome, free bonus! This book is funny and playfully written, but also quite useful. Of course, not all the "cures" will work the same for everyone, but there's such a wide variety of them that, even if you never try the more "out there" cures, you're still sure to get your money's worth out of it.

secret food cures is a must for a health library

a keeper. I use it along with my natural medicine and essential oils books for prevention and meaning health issues. I find it reduces any medical costs and we are healthier. I recommend this book.

Really Awesome Book!!

Okay so yes, there should be some content from the book shown, I agree. However, if you have faith in other people's opinions - hopefully mine will help you make a decision about whether or not to buy this book. I read through this book today for a few hours while at my Aunt's House today and I have never been one for these ''home remedies'' etc. I found the book extremely well layed out, for one thing. You can look things up by either problem(insomnia, hair - loss, coloring, etc, arthritis, cold, headaches, etc) or by ingredient (flax oil, honey, lemon juice) which I found to be very helpful. I had a list of things I wanted to find out how to cure or rather, help ease the discomfort. I also had a few ingredients I wanted to look up to find out what they could be used for, so the double purpose of that was really helpful. The book is also written by two sisters who have a sense of humor and who integrate it into parts of the recipes. There are medicine/remedie recipes for your body, but there are also a few really awesome homemade chicken soup, salsa, recipes. I was actually fascinated by how much information was in here and it wasn't boring at all to read! My suggestion: Make a list and mark pages with post-its because you'll think of one thing(acne, alligator skin, oily skin) you'll want to cure and you'll think of another thing and another, which amused me for two hours earlier today. I jumped online as soon as I could so that I could find out what other people thought of it. Honestly, I highly recommend it. It's only $10 so if you're really hating on it(can't imagine why)then you're not bad off.

Intelligently written, helpful resource

Are you kidding me? This is a treasure of home remedies and useful cures for everyday maladies using the most natural of products we have access to --- our food! Bravo. Get this book.
