THE PRANKSTER PREACHER OR CRASHING A BILLY GRAHAM CRUSADE

BORN TO PREACH, an autobiography by Henry Feyerabend could be titled, The Prankster Preacher. His 'funny bone' came close to barring him from the ministry he felt called to as a young boy of four years. While reading this book for the second time, I laughed heartily as his story unfolded. Henry tells his story in such a delightful, light-hearted way that you'll want to keep reading non-stop to the end. How about playing a tape recording for a wedding march deep in the heart of Brazil? Henry's instructed the local school teacher to press the ON button when the bridal party is ready and to press the OFF button at the conclusion. No one in that community knows anything about a reel-to-reel tape player. The officiating minister told Henry not to provide any recessional as he wanted to close with prayer. However, the wedding march as recorded from a record, sounded so beautiful to the minister's ears that he gave the signal to the teacher to press the ON button again. What sounded next from the tape player threw the audience into hysterical laughter. No one present ever forgot that wedding. At another time, Henry decided to take a group of his students, who were excellent singers, hoping to be singing evangelists, to a Billy Graham Crusade. Disappointment awaited them, however, Every seat in the vast auditorium was filled and the ushers would allow no more people in. Of course, the young men felt crushing disappointment. Henry wouldn't give up. You'll need to read the book to find out how they acquired the best seats in the house. This book portrays intense, unwavering dedication to fulfill the call Henry felt from his childhood. If you're looking for inspiration, BORN TO PREACH is the book for you. Betty L.
