A followup to "Retail Anarchy", "Boreism" looks at how tourism marketing changed the nature of cities in the mid to late 2000's. It explores how consumers embraced nonsensical ideas about tourism, and displaced residents in New York City as a result. Written before the advent of home sharing apps, "Boreism" accurately predicted how tourism would ultimately suffer a backlash from the citizens it purported to help.
