My go to dessert cookbook

No idea what the reviewer who says this is a terrible book was actually making and eating. I am a very experienced cook & baker (40+years). I have, so far, made 12 of the desserts and every one was delicious. Of course, we have liked some (Jamaican Ginger Rum Cakes & Pink Champagne Cake) more than others (Lava Cake, which were still delicious). We entertain several times a month and our guests now ask "which booze dessert are you making?" I plan on making everything in the book - unusual for me as there are usually a few that I read and think "hmmm, not for us". I have given the book as a gift already and have two more for this Christmas. Delicious recipes with several variations listed after most of the recipes. I am an experienced baker, but nothing in this book is too hard for a new baker. Having the correct equipment (zester, ginger grater, spring form pans) makes it easier. Enjoy!

Booze Cakes

I don't drink but do like to use it in my cooking. Great recipes. Recommended.

Great Pictures, Terrible Recipes

I was very excited to get this book because I love liquored-up desserts, however, after trying a few recipes I know this book is straight up garbage. Since I kept having absolutely terrible results, I checked the authors' cooking/baking credentials. Neither one of them is a professional baker nor chef. Actually, neither one of them even has cooking/baking as a hobby or interest. In fact, one of them is a graphic designer which explains the pretty pictures. After the epic fails for the recipes, I'm convinced that none of the recipes have even been tested for accuracy. I think they gathered a bunch of recipes from the internet, changed a few ingredients, shot some pretty (fake) pictures then published a book. Save yourself the trouble, do NOT purchase this book. If you desperately still want it, go check it out at the library.
