The ConceptPhaiku was created as a means to showcase photography in an interesting style. The word "Phaiku" is a combination of the words Picture & Haiku. Each Phaiku is simply a photograph with an accompanying Haiku. A Haiku is a Japanese poem that has three lines in a 5-7-5 syllable format. By fusing a poem with a photo, all of a sudden, both the poem and the photo become something greater. They take on a united purpose and a greater sense of depth for the reader. Phaiku is photo alchemy. The InspirationOne day, as I was reading the side of a Japanese Green Tea bottle, I noticed a simple haiku written on the side. In that moment, it occurred to me - wouldn't it be fun to combine a haiku with a photograph?...and in that moment of inspiration, the concept of Phaiku was born.
