great book

For some reason this book felt short, even though a lot happened through out it all. But you'll hear no complaining from me- it was a great book! I cant wait to read the next one

The Magic Never Falters....

"Bone Magic" is the 7th book in the Otherworld series and Yasmine Galenorn has kept the magic flowing. Gifted with the ability to write a series that flows between each of the D'Artigo sisters POV while keeping all the characters present and involved in each book is amazing. Often in a series like this the author looses sight of the other characters when focusing on telling the story from a shifting POV, but not Yasmine Galenorn. The flow is fluid and graceful. I would definitely recommend reading these books in order so you can get the full extent of the story and the character growth and development. I appreciated the insight into Iris with this book and hope that we get to delve deeper into her mystery in the future. In Bone Magic, you'll be jealous of Camille and her husbands ;) Taken on Camille's journey and growth into her magic. Sit back, get a glass of wine and enjoy.

bone magic

"Bone Magic" is the 7th installment into the Otherworld series, & , once again, Yasmine Galenorn has proven that she deserves a place in the urban fantasy genre. I would definitely read the first 6 books in this series before venturing into "Bone Magic" because the world building is complex, & the books are not completely self contained. Each book is narrated by one of the 3 D'Artigo sisters, & "Bone Magic" is Camille's turn. She & her sisters are still on the lookout for the remaining spirit seals, but Camille must also travel back to Otherworld to get Trillian. While visiting her home, she is summoned by the Black Beast, Father of the Dahns Unicorns, & takes on a new role in the war against Shadow Wing. Iris also travels to Otherworld, & we learn some interesting things about her past. Smoky's past is also brought to light, & the world of the dragons becomes very important. With each book on the Otherworld series, Galenorn gets better & better. "Bone Magic" was a treat, & I can't wait for the next installment, "Harvest Hunting." The world building always blows me away in this series, & the Otherworld books have become a favorite for me.

super fantasy

Otherworld Intelligence Operator Camille D'Artigo is spirit-bonded and married to Smokey the dragon Smokey and Mario the demon fox. She loves both males, but also misses her beloved soul mate Svartan Trillian. Meanwhile the dragon clan demand Smoky chooses them over his human or face consequences. At the same time Camille wonders how Trillian will react to her matings; she and her sisters struggle to locate a new demon general destroying everything. When her siblings continue the search, the Moon Mother and Black Beast order Camille to come to Otherworld. She is ecstatic as she assumes she will see Trillian. However, as the Equinox arrives, she has a much more complicated scenario awaiting her. The war has gotten hotter and Camille is caught in a ritual that means life and death, but not just for her. Camille is front and center as her convoluted life gets even more knotted in her latest escapades this time in Otherworld as evil seems one bloody step ahead of her and her siblings. Although it helps to read the previous tales in this super fantasy (see Demon Mistress and Night Huntress, etc.) to better comprehend how far and complex the lives of the D'Artigo sisters have come, Bone Magic is a fabulous entry as master mage Yasmine Galenorn keeps making life increasingly demanding for the three siblings. Bone Magic Casts its Spell on Me

I've been a fan of Yasmine Galenorn's works for a long time, so I had high expectations for Bone Magic. The series works its way through sets of trilogies; each book is from the POV of each of the three D'Artigo Sisters - Camille (a witch), Delilah (a werecat) and Menolly (a vampire.) Camille's books fall on the "firsts", as her book was the first in the series, Witchling; and Dragon Wytch was the fourth book. Now, with Bone Magic, Galenorn returns to Camille's POV. Camille is a larger than life, lusty, exciting character, who is half Fey, half Human, and all attitude and magic. This book had a lot to "live up to", when combined with the tensions that have been ramping up as the story has built over the last couple books. Simply put, the book delivers on its promise. There is a lot of action; some story lines that have been pending for a while now, finally resolve and characters return, while opening up some truly intriguing avenues Galenorn will be exploring in the next few books. The characters feel real, in spite of the fantastical setting and backgrounds of many of the magical characters. The humans hold their own, as well. Galenorn treats relationships as an adult would and should. The people are living on the edge of a precipice, with the fate of worlds in the balance, so everything is more electric, including their encounters in the bedroom. Readers who don't enjoy realistic, sensual character interaction should consider this, before plunging into the world. I would say, though, that if you're not sure, try Witchling; the story and characters will captivate you. These are not "sex books" set in a paranormal world. These are well written, urban fantasies, that address all the areas "real people" live within - emotionally and physically. I would caution the reader who has not read the first 6 books, to go back, pick up Witchling, and read the series in order. The world is detailed; the plots are thick; and you'll enjoy all of it much more if you're intimately familiar with al the players and plotlines. For those who are up to date on the Otherworld Series, just know that the Trillian question is addressed (finally!); we learn more about Smoky's Dragon background and his family; Iris' history starts to come into play; and Camille gets something she's wished for, but she may regret it. This book really does run by the "be careful what you wish for" advisory. This creates some truly spectacular run ins, and opens up some very interesting cans of worms that all of them will have to deal with in the next few books.
