Body and Soul: Ten American Women This is a collection of stories of various women and their lives. Some are everyday, some are extraordinary. My favorite was Susan Butcher who's picture is on the cover. The book was published in 1988 just after Susan had won her first Iditarod Dog Mushing race. She has since won the race 4 times before she retired. She is known world wide and her outgoing personality acted as a magnet drawing people to her. She died in 2006. She tells her story when she is still living in Eureka in the middle of the wilderness with her husband and fellow musher Dave Munson and 180 dogs at the time. The story a nice legacy and tribute to a truly remarkable, one of kind person. The book is worth it just to read her story. The other women are not nearly as memorable nor match the caliber of Susan Butcher.
