In this whimsical tale written in the tradition of Dr. Seuss, Jack always wished for a special pet and one Christmas his wish comes true--he discovers a yak of his own under the tree. Jeff Moss brings his trademark insight and imaginative wit to his first book-length story told in verse.
I received this book as a graduation gift. Initially it looked like an odd gift but when I read it, I was in tears. You are reminded of all the little things that sometimes are missed as life soars by. Great book for all ages!
A wonderfully funny and sweet story

I was in a Sesame Street store a few years ago and decided to pick this book up because I thought the title was funny. I sat down to read what I thought would be a cute, silly story. It was that, but also a whole lot more. I kept reading about the boy, his pet yak, and their friendship over the years, and ended up in tears in the middle of the store. I bought the book right away. This is one of my all-time favorite books, and I am 22 years old. It is a book that not only teaches kids about friendship and growing up, it also reminds adults what the important stuff in life really is.
