A "must have" for lovers of the Jersey Shore

Reading this book is like taking a walk down Memory Lane. It brought back so many fond memories of my childhood trips "down the shore" Salvini's attention to detail and wonderful collection of historical photographs are absolutely astounding. A must read for anyone who grew up at the Jersey Shore!

Great Read

I was just given a copy of this book by my son and was very pleased. Mr. Salvini really brought back fond memories of the Jersey Shore. Great photographs, hard to believe how the boardwalks have changed!

Wonderful Book

Having spent many of my early years on the Jersey shore, it was a delight to receive this for my birthday. I was so happy to finally see the shore I remembered from my youth so thoughtfully collected and written about. It truly evokes the memories of the wonderful boardwalks I have from my childhood. A wonderful book.

If you spend your summers on the Jersey Shore this is a must read book!

Emil Salvini takes you on a splendid literary walk down New Jerseys treasured boardwalks. This book is rich with photographs and stories, new and old, that take you from central Jersey to exit zero. Salvini, like in his Cape May book, offers the perfect combination of history and legend, making it a fun and educational read. I truly enjoyed looking at the pictures in particular, there's even a shot of a very young Danny Devito, look closely!

A Five Star Read

Emil Salvini has done it again. I loved his book on Cape May: The Summer City by the Sea, An Illustrated History of Cape May, NJ which documents in wonderful detail the story of America's most famous Victorian resort. Using his gift for story telling Mr. Salvini now brings all of the NJ shore resorts to life from Long Branch to Cape May. From Lucy the Elephant, to the first Boardwalk on the coast, to famous shipwrecks and parades, it is all here. If you have ever visited the NJ boardwalks or have friends or family who have this is a MUST READ.
