The DEFINITIVE Biography of the Best British Band of the 90s

Well, OK, I would have Blur tied with Suede for the best British rock band of the 1990's (and Oasis nowhere near either of the two). This is the official biography written by Stuart Maconie and released to coincide with Blur's 10 year anniversary in 1999. An excellent book starting with the childhoods of all of the band members and leading up to the triumphant release of Blur's 6th album, 1999's 13. Candid, in depth, and packed with information, this book is great for Blur fans. My one complaint is that, unlike the excellent Suede official biography, this does not contain a timeline, discography, chronology, or anything of the sort. That being said, if you are a Blur fan, this is essential reading.

For big Blur fans

You have to really love Blur to read it, but if you do, you won't regret it. It's a very good book and you'll get to know the band and their history. The best ever for the fans!

What a great book!

First of all...I really think you don't know Blur until you've read this wonderful book.Stuart Maconie is a great author, and makes it all a very pleasant, interesting experience. It covers the entire story of Blur, full of quotes and facts. It's even told how Damon lost his virginity...It gave me a whole new perspective about the guys I've always loved, and it's absolutely a must in every serious Blur-fan's collection. If you're not an expert in english, you'll be facing some difficult words now and then(a dictionary is very handy,or a good english teacher, which I think got a bit tired of all my glossary problems...).I got really depressed when I read about all the problems my wonderful lads had to fight.I'm reading it the third time now,and I'm still getting deeply moved by reading it.I am sure you'll enjoy it just as much as I did!Have fun reading!

For the true fan from 'Leisure' to '13.'

This book is a must read for a true Blur fan. If you werent already convinced that Blur were one of the most important bands of the 90's this book is sure to do the trick. The author has presented a journey through ten years of both struggle and success that is sure to have any fan breaking out all six records to relive the journey themselves. From the early days of Seymour to the present '13' this book leaves out nothing, and goes much deeper than anything you've read in 'Q' or 'Select.' Get to know Blur beyond the tabloids.

The greatest biography I've ever read!

It is amazing how much new stuff is given in that book! Although I've already read four books about BLUR, I was really surprised how much I still did not know. Did you know that Alex's first name is Steven? And did you know that Damon's father was already 28 at Damon's birth? You must read it! Really! It is written in such a funny way that I had to smile a lot while reading. So, do as I did and buy it!
