The book "Blues for Silk Garcia" by Erika Tamar is a well plotted and moving story. The story is about a young high school girl named Linda Ann Garcia from New York. Linda Ann Garcia is a born musician, and she convinced she owes her talent to her father. In the story she also unravels untold upsetting truths about the stranger she idolizes. That he is a junkie, a thief, and that he used people. When she finds out that she has a musical talent, she goes to the Guitar Institute to take lessons. While becoming skillful playing the guitar, a boy called Michael Harrison gets interested in her. Linda thinks, what does a rich, popular boy see in her. But later on Linda gets into a relationship with Michael. Michael and Linda both have a love for music very much. After sharing music with Michael, Linda thinks that she's using Michael for connections in the music business. Is she a person that uses people just like her father Silk Garcia? I feel that this book overall is a great book, and I would recommend this book to people.
