Bluebonnet at the State Fair of Texas

Bluebonnet, the armadillo, is on her first visit to the Texas state fair. Things get exciting when she is sent on a search through the fair to look for clues to help her find her Aunt Armadilly. Along the way, Bluebonnet is mistaken for a football during a Longhorn versus Sooner Cotton Bowl game and makes friends with Joe Bob, a rabbit who has lost his boy. Together they ride a roller coaster and are given directions by Big Tex, the largest Texan at the fair.

A part of the Bluebonnet Series, Bluebonnet at the State Fair of Texas is just one of this well-traveled armadillo's adventures in Texas. Featuring amusing cartoon illustrations, this Dallas story offers young cowpokes a fun excursion through the fair, from baking and fashion sewing competitions to carnival rides and livestock shows.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Mary Brooke Casad has been a featured author at Austin's Texas Book Festival and is a member of the Writers' League of Texas, the Texas State Historical Association, and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Pat Binder is a freelance cartoonist whose illustrations have been used in magazines, comic books, and greeting cards. His clients include American Airlines, Frito-Lay, and Dairy Queen. A graduate of East Texas State University and a native of Iowa, Binder lives in Plano, Texas.
