A modern evil embedded in America's heartland

William W. Johnstone brings forth a great story that's torn right from the headlines that leaves you intrigued a page at a time. Key Lessard has been a mercenary since he left the army after Vietnam, he's fought in the French Foreign Legion, he's been all over the world facing every type of terrorist, fanatic, freak, and despot the planet has to offer. But now he's tired and wants to go home to Nebraska and see about making something out of the land back home instead of blowing it to bits, then he gets home and discovers something to turn any stomach and that's the TFL. A hate group that has embedded itself into his hometown, sowing hate, terror, and sadism to hand out to the masses. But Key Lessard is no stranger to these sort of tactics and when he fights it isn't fair, its to win. When they try to go after him, when they kill his father, hurt the woman he loves, and threaten his family they make their last mistakes and now for them their is no penance, no redemption, all there is is death. And Key Lessard will be more then generous in handing it out.

bloody america

Bloodland This book is very interesting for someone who is into the action genre. The books main character is Key Lessard a Vietnam veteran who is now a mercenary who came home and found his hometown infiltrated by neo-Nazi. The neo-nazi are part of a group that calls themselves the T.F.L. (the truth, the faith the lord). Key gets a strange feeling when he hears the word "weird" a lot and when his old football coach, that tells him about the T.F.L, suddenly dies, key calls his old buddy in the CIA, Key was now on the government payroll. Key goes undercover in till the T.F.L. learns about him working for the government. The T.F.L. tries to kill Key and Key gets mad. Key gets a gun and fights the T.F.L. single-handedly. Key finally takes back his town but he's not done with the war!

The Johnstone formula we've grown to love.

This book originally came out back in the 80s, but it stillholds up. Key Lessard is a great protagonist, trying to figure out theleader of the Nazis taking over his hometown. For a change, the bad guys actually manage to get the drop on one of Johnstone's characters, leading to a great second act. Violence, right-wing political views, and lots of guns are the reason I keep reading this stuff (now I sound like a crazed redneck). Blood Land won't disappoint.

Different book, same storyline

Another classic Johnstone action/adventure novel with conservative politcal views. Johnstone has been my favorite author because I agree with most of his characters viewpoints. However, I would like to see Bill write different novels from time to time. I miss his horror novels from the 80s.

Classic Bill Johnstone-characters all can relate to.

Characters such as Key Lassard have made Johnstone a favorite among mens-adventure readers. He really makes you think and take a good look at yourself as well as the world around you.His plots and the ideology of his characters are not pollitcally correct-they just speak the truth!
