I don't care what anyone else says... this is my most favorite book in all the world! It has everything in it from suspense, lust, horror, and mystery. I first read this book back in middle school about 15 years ago and I've been hooked ever since because I keep coming back to read it again. I just read the book again and I finished the whole thing in 2 days because I couldn't put the book down! It's just that good. This is indeed a very good read.
A Definite Re-read.

I loved this book, "Blood Roots;" what a thrill it is to read. I could not put it down. It was one of the first suspense novels I've ever read, and by far my favorite. All the characters and their feeling are richly portrayed, you truly feel you are a part of the novel. At many points I could only imagine what could possibly happen next. I have recommended this book to several people and all have said they've read it twice or more. It is a real page turner and a truly original book.
Unknown to Olivia, her life was already planned

I stumbled upon this book when it first came out, and although my reading habits are somewhat eclectic, I keep on coming back to read this one over and over again. It's what I like to call a southern suspense, although the spine reads horror. All the characters are richly portrayed, with a plot that will keeps you guessing till the end. To sum it up, Olivia finds a letter from her grandmother after her mother dies. Intrigued by her blood roots, she travels to Deveraux House and to her grandmother. She keeps her identity secret, though, and agrees to work as a hired hand along with Skyler, Jesse, Yoly, Mathilde, and Helen. Immediately she senses something not right, but stays, believing it her right to be in her ancestral home, and is drawn into a world of dark secrets which her mother originally fled from. Note* this book shouldn't be read by anyone below the age of 17 or who is immature.
Even though rates only go up to 5, I rate it a 10!!!

I read Blood Roots almost two years ago and it still haunts me. It is a novel stock full of suspense, mystery, and lustful desires...Richie Tankersley Cusick did an incredible job, and I commend her for stirring my lust for suspense.
