Petrified and traumatized, Sam returns to the States to team up with Dr. Katherine Beck, an ornithologist from the University of Seattle, to identify the species. When they figure out it is prehistoric, the pair head back to the Amazon to track it down, but they are followed by a pair of paleontologists who will stop at nothing, not even safety, to gain fame and fortune from the discovery. Now all of them are in the jungle, and they are all vulnerable to a creature that they have no knowledge of. Unfortunately for them, it is watching, and it wants to take their lives as well.
