A new war

Linda Howard is an excellent romantic suspense writer, I was excited to see she wrote a paranormal novel! This book had some world building in the beginning that got a little boring, but once past that it's a suspenseful book, exciting during the battle in the end. I enjoyed this book, I would definitely read the second. I really liked the characters, Luca the vampire that walks through the world forgotten as soon as you meet him. Living an isolated existence until the conduit for the protective warriors of earth, Chloe is the first human to remember him. Luca protects her from the rouge vampires while trying to catch a murderer and leader of the revolution. Sorin, talked into the rouge life is unsure of what he is doing and who to protect including Nevada. Nevada is a witch captured, family held hostage trying to motivate her to break the protection spell keeping vampires out of uninvited houses. I enjoyed all the characters. Once past the world building, the pace of the book is fine. No major complaints from me

Enthralling

I love Linda Howard, but after reading the other reviews I was hesitant to spend my money on this book. I bought it anyway, because, well, it is by Linda Howard, and I'm so glad I didn't listen to the other reviewers. I was thoroughly enthralled! Although typos and misspellings are usually very obvious to me, I didn't notice a single one in this book. It must be because the story was so interesting and enjoyable to read. So if you like Linda Howard (or even if you don't), this book is well worth reading.

Good Book

Not sure why the reviews on this book are not better. I enjoyed this book alot...Yes there is a lot of backround but the characters were interesting and you really felt their emotions. Very well written. I can not wait to read the next books in this series. Lots of new twists in the vampire world in this book. I would recommend it highly.
