Hunt's Third Book Sizzles.

In Blinded by the Light Morgan Hunt plays with a double entendre. Her sleuth, Tess Camillo, must find out how a victim of electrical shock died in a lightning field after the obvious (lightning) has been eliminated. But apart from the fatal current delivered to the heart of the victim, Tess experiences her own metaphoric heart zapping experience when she falls for a new love interest who dazzles our heroine with her own brand of fireworks. Starry eyed and smitten, Tess is blinded by infatuation, but only temporarily. Her savvy returns in time to catch a murderer and dodge a bullet--or would that be a bolt? A fast moving joy ride that will tug at your heart while it teases your brain.

Shockingly Fun

Reviewed by Paige Lovitt for Reader Views (8/08) Amateur sleuth and breast cancer survivor Tess Camillo is off on her third adventure when she investigates a murder that happens while she is visiting the Lightning Field with a friend in New Mexico. The victim is made to appear like she was hit by lightning; however, it is quite obvious to the authorities that she was not. Tess's pregnant friend is one of the prime suspects. Concern for her friend's welfare puts Tess into overdrive on the case. While all the investigating is going on, Tess is also following matters of the heart. She has met a woman online she immediately feels drawn to. This makes Tess vulnerable. I really enjoyed reading "Blinded by the Light." The author, Morgan Hunt, does such an excellent job of developing her characters and describing her scenes in such vivid detail, my imagination did not have to do much work. Instead I was able to sit back and enjoy the story. There is a ton of humor in her writing; however, she does not go overboard with it because the main character Tess also has depth, especially in regards to matters of the heart. At her core, Tess wants to be in a loving, complete relationship. The crazy stuff that happens around her, especially with some of the eccentric suspects, makes for a really interesting story. I am in awe of Morgan Hunt's creativity in writing. The method of murder and the motives behind it were totally unique. She also has the character encounter interesting people with unique jobs. I like that she incorporated an unusual place that really exists into the story. I enjoyed googling Lightning Field on the Internet to learn more about it. Hunt's journey takes her to several unique, interesting places within the southwest area. "Blinded by the Light" ranks high on my recommendation list, especially for my friends who enjoy bizarre, humorous murder mysteries.

Shining Light!

In three new novels, Tess Camillo has become one of my favorite solvers of mysteries. She is an amateur sleuth, smart, witty and sassy, but all too human. Her character is unique and invites the open-minded, intelligent reader. She seems to have grown in this third novel in the series to be less overtly comedic, but delightfully wry with more subtle humor, abundantly evident but requiring the reader to be on constant alert. She is also more emotionally vulnerable to the vagaries of romance, beyond a romp in the hay, to an emotional depth unexplored in prior works. Capturing the essence and substance of the Lightning Field in New Mexico attests to the skill of author, Morgan Hunt, in exploring and sharing unique settings and circumstances. Above all, Blinded by the Light is fun to read, a good mystery and very entertaining!

Keep 'Em Coming!

Morgan Hunt has created a fabulous modern-day heroine with her protagonist Tess Camillo. In her third book, Blinded By The Light, Tess is more comfortable in her scarred skin as the breast cancer survivor and veteran sleuth craves the endorphin load of a mysterious murder as much as a cup of Kona blend. Hunt sends her beloved hyper analytical 21st century Angela Lansbury into the desert outside of Albuquerque for a freelance techy job where Tess soon begins to solve the murder of a young woman; sans her puckish terrier Raj and her Finnish bf and roommate Lana. Tess returns to the left coast with more questions about the New Mexico murder hanging thick in the air like charged electrons before a storm. Her trusty trio reassembles on her home turf of San Diego, Lana - freshly returned from French trek with her fiancé and Pookie, Lana's mentally challenged yet loyal dachshund and Raj set about to solve another case. In her third effort, Hunt's writing continues to tighten as she takes the reader on another ride of intrigue, clever cultural references and likeable characters. Her great plots and clues keep you guessing until the very end. As Tess looks to cyberspace to find someone to share her life with, you can't help but cheer for her as she encounters relatable scenarios, as you may find yourself holding your breath as she checks her email inbox. Hunt truly has a gift for tying up the human experience in a wonderful read. Her three books make for fun indulgences without dumbing down the characters or the content - as the 200-page average is perfect for the plane, train or beach. These books make great gifts but if you lend one out make sure to put your name in it, because you may never get it back. Can't wait for more...

Morgan Hunt has another winner

Morgan does keep getting more intereting with these books. I read it in one day. Moves along at a great speed, never dull nor boring, yet keeps you guessing as to the ending. I am waiting for book number four.
