Jim Madison spent two tours in the Special Forces in Afghanistan. After his stint in the military, he acquired a 200 acre farm, in the relatively small town of Boone, Iowa. He began repairs and remodeling of the farmhouse. He wasn't sure if he wanted to continue living there, or sell. Either way, the changes needed to be made. He'd lived in New York City most of his life. He knew for sure that he didn't want to live there anymore. The laid back lifestyle in Boone seemed to be just what he needed, at least for awhile.Calie Davis, a New York City T.V. news reporter, arrived in Boone, for her mother's funeral. At her Boss's suggestion, she planned to take a month off, take care of her mother's affairs, and rejuvenate from her hectic lifestyle in the big city.A chance meeting brings Jim and Calie together. For a time, their lives seem perfect, in the majestic surroundings at the farm. Unfortunately, all that was about to change. Jim finds himself charged with rape and murder. Calie tries to prove his innocence, but finds there is a dark secret in his past. Life as they knew it turned from serenity to insurmountable danger, with neither of them being safe anywhere. Calie finds herself preparing to defend against Russian Spies. If Jim wasn't guilty, then she also had to worry that the real rapist and killer, would try to get to her, and stop her investigation. If her newfound boyfriend wasn't guilty, she needed to prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt, so they could continue a life together. If she found that he was guilty, she intended to make him pay dearly for committing those horrible crimes, and turning her world upside down.
