I enjoyed the book; however, I read it for a historical point of view, but I felt more of his social impact--such as the people's everyday living environment, places they frequented (clubs, theaters, church), relationships, work environments and sources of income (legitimate and illegitimate) and racial tension. It therefore, came across has a good dramatic novel versus something of a historical substance. I recommend it because it is a good read dramatically but has far as the grammar is concerned--I felt like pulling out my read pen and correcting some of the grammatical errors.
