The insistent bleating coming from atop Black Goat Bluff has the folks of Marshall Bend on edge, their emotions raw, their nerves frayed. Lifelong resident Liz Grant thinks the sounds are a bad omen, and that after one of the goat's mad ranting, death will always follow. So after three seemingly unrelated deaths, it appears her beliefs hold true. Her son Charlie however believes the deaths are related. When the local sheriff refuses to investigate the incidents, Charlie sets out to solve the mystery on his own. What Charlie soon realizes is that his greatest challenge is staying alive.
