The prodigal father returns.

With the sudden re-emergence of Kyo's father and attacks using human puppets still ongoing, chateau Tengu is one busy place. What clan is behind the attacks? What information does Kyo's father hold? Not only about the current situation, but about the mysterious circumstances surrounding his wife's death, and why he was blamed for it. And will an old enemy rear his head... With the age gap of Kyo and Misao, along with Kyo's teasing meanness, I can understand how this might not be everyone's cup of tea. But I feel like everything is handled as delicately as possible and it's volumes like this that keep the urge to keep reading alive. There's twist and turns, and exciting antics on every page! It was great getting to learn more about Kyo's family history, seeing Misao growth of emotional strength and maturity, and witnessing a softer side of Kyo, (which is flipping adorable!) While there was less action in this volume, the political element between clans and within the Tengu clan itself was interesting to say the least. The art was also stunning! I can't wait to see where the story goes and watch the character's lives unfold. Only 8 more volumes to go.
