Bipolar is NOT an STD: Beyond Bipolar, anxiety, depression, personality problems, and relationship offenses.

This is what a purchaser wrote, in her words, about the book, and was kind enough to offer it as an authorized review for use. "A must read for struggling with bipolar/depression/anxiety. I will start by saying I never do reviews, but I really do hope that this will help someone make the decision to read this book. I have struggled for over 10+ years with bipolar 2, depression, and anxiety mixed with some adhd, and probably some ocd lol. As anyone who deals with a mental health problem, you know what I'm talking about when I say it's a struggle. Not only for us but our loved ones as well, for me that means my husband and kids. I believe in coincidences and me finding this book came at a time where I feel I was at my lowest. I had seen my psych NP, we were changing my meds trying some new and ofcourse, I get the talk, "you really need to find a therapist" (eye roll from me). Nope. I am not a therapy kinda gal. I don't want to keep reliving my past over and over. It's just not me. Soooo back to the subject. I was at the point something was needed to give my anger and other emotions, was hurting the people I love and it made me feel terrible. I want to change just didn't know how. Because I truly believe when you aren't happy with who you are then you really can't make others happy, not because you don't want to, because there is so much going on inside us. This book has really opened my eyes and given me the hope that after all these years I can make the adjustments needed to the way I think and to be happy and not be a slave to my own mind anymore. I also let my husband read some excerpts on certain topics and he was able to have a better understanding of some things which is HUGE because he has definitely taken the brunt of a lot over the past 14 years we've been married. I just hope and pray that this book gives someone out there the hope it has given me. Yes we are different and that's ok but we can also be HAPPY and LOVE ourselves just the way we are " M.A., West Virginia. Tired of feeling like crap, and not seeing yourself doing better? How many times do you think you are getting better, only to find out it seems that you are running a hamster wheel? Or, worse yet, another painful breakup or loss. Too much, too soon, it's like you never get what you need to get back on your feet again. You spend way too much time just barely existing. If this sounds like you, (which are many), this book is for you. Are you in danger of losing hope? Dr. Goodall has been in the Psychology business for 24 years. She speaks and writes in a way that you can understand. She connects the dots for you. Dr. Goodall describes what is the missing link in understanding depression, anxiety, panic disorder, bipolar, and coping with difficult relationship personalities, and what to expect from them. Her style is personable, and research-based. Millions of people suffer in spaces that could be improved, if given a better direction and course of attack. People need to have hope, and you have to show a REAL path towards it. Breaking things down in a way that's understandable, is what I think is the only way to get people off the floor."Sometimes you have nothing. No external gauges to help. No person or outside influence. You know you have to do the run. The run is the only thing left to do. This book is for anyone who had to run a race that they didn't think they had in them. Whether it was your second broken marriage, your kid in the jail cell, your cancer, or your fleet of mobile rage-let's face it, this wasn't supposed to be your race. But now it IS." Excerpt from "Bipolar is not an STD". This book ties in medical information with psychology. People think psychology is easy. It isn't. It's a matter of knowing where to look for answers. Many people walk around with wrong treatment because of wrong diagnosis. Many give up, because it has taken too long. This book is Psychology's cheat sheet.
