I wasn't expecting to get a text book but still, not a bad book for what it is. If you're learning about plant biology or botany, I'd recommend.

Good overview of plant biology

The book, which covers all major aspects in plant biology, is a good reference for students. In the 7th edition some aspects are treated more in deep, including current knowledge and using a plain language and effective figures. Two chapters on ecology lack, but actually I do not miss them, because their themes, though undoubtedly important, are treated by disciplines other than botany.
A great botany reference!

This is one of the few text books I kept after the class. It's an invaluable general botany reference. The text is very readable, yet covers the material in great depth, which is no small feat considering the scope of the book.
Excellent introductory text

I am a self-taught biology student with a special interest in botany. I've read sections of and otherwise skimmed all the plant biology texts printed in the past 40 years. This book is the one I bought for myself and read cover to cover and still refer to often. I recommend it highly, the more so for the solo reader.
An excellent book on most contemporay aspects of botany

Biology of Plants. This to me is one of the finest undergraduate texts on botany that I have been able to find. The explanations are extremely lucid and the diagrams and photographs are excellently researched and displayed. This book because of its clarity, maybe used by the general public and as a source of fascinating information into the world of plants. Not only is the anatomy and physiology well covered by the authors, but they delve into diversity, genetics and also cover the fundamentals of primary and secondary metabolism and area that is of real importance to those studying vegetarianism, food phytochemistry, nutrition and herbal medicine. It is a must for those who can afford to spend that little bit extra on a contemporary botanical text.
