Despite it's small paperback size (only 156 pages), Biofeedback, Fasting & Meditation is a complete, detailed, and fascinating look at fasting, mediation, and biofeedback. Each chapter thoroughly tackles a subject. For example, when the author looks at the topic of fasting, Mr. Null takes a look at the origins of the practice, what fasting does to the body on a purely physiological level, as well as the psychological effect and explains the benefits of fasting. He then goes on compare fasting with meditation. Rather than delving deeply into the many forms and variations of meditation, Mr. Null takes a good look only at Zen and Transcendental Meditation. He compares the two somewhat and explains in some detail the physiological mechanisms behind meditation and how it can be used to improve one's health and reduce stress, yet this is done in an exciting way. And lastly the author goes into the basics of biofeedback, explaining about the significance of alpha and theta brainwaves, and how all this relates to meditation and to fasting. This is a very informative little book, with complete references to other books and articles that may be of interest at the end of each chapter. If you can find this little gem and you are interested in mastering the various aspects of your mind and body, buy this book; it's great!
