Billy Tibbles has his room just the way he wants it--all to himself. When his parents decide it's time for Billy to share his room with his younger brother, Billy moves out. Full color. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I mainly look for books with themes that we need to work on (sharing, manners, etc) and those with good illustrations. This book had both and read very well. The pictures are entertaining and the response of both mom and dad is appropriate to the kids' behavior - i.e. scolding when the kids refuse to share, or when they break the bed, etc. I thought it sounded like what I might say to my son, which made it more realistic to me. I would recommend this book and we look forward to reading more in the other Billy book(s).
Billy Tibble Moves Out!

Billy Tibble Moves Out! I thought was a down to earth children's book that shows the frustration and unhappiness that many children experience when another sibling enters the family or in this case the room. Billy feels like he is not as cared for as his little brother, therefore, there is no way he wants to share his room with him. Billy tries all these different places in the house, but in the end returns to his room to find out that sharing with his fun, little brother isn't so bad after all. The book does a really good job of showing the reader that everyone in the family has to share even dad. Sometimes children think that they are the only ones that have to share, but this book helps them to see the point of view some other people have. The only thing that I didn't quite agree with in this book was the use of cats to be the characters. The message through the book was so strongly correlated with humans that using cats (cartoonish cats) at that takes away from the effectiveness of the story. Luckily, I don't have to like the pictures because as long as the children like the pictures than they will learn a valuable lesson along with them.
A perfect book for anybody with siblings

This book is the perfect book for anybody with siblings. It also deals with sharing your toys, books, etc. Billy Tibbles Moves Out is about Billy, a cat, who doesn't want to share his bedroom with his little brother Eric. So Billy moves out of his room and into several other rooms in the house. While walking back to his original room he thinks something might already be in it. Billy is then glad that his sister is there with him walking up the steps. At the end of the book it shows that even parents have to share. It sends the message that even though having brothers and sisters might be hard, and they may make you want to leave, in the end it is worth having them. The illustrations are also wonderful and compliment the book well.
