Billionaire, M.D. - A True Guardian Angel

Wow! From the moment she opened her eyes, the chemistry between Rodrigo, her gorgeous surgeon and self-appointed guardian angel, and Cybele was palpable! Cybele suffered from memory loss that she incurred in an accident. But her memory came back to her in expertly written doses of info and insight that only Olivia Gates can deliver. And boy did she deliver - unfurling the intricacies and the mysteries of Rodrigo's presence in Cybele's life. I loved learning about Cybele's past and found myself turning each page faster and faster so I could discover what else had lead up to their current relationship. Like an onion, this story has so many fascinating layers to remove and reveal more and more about the characters who you will care about and adore. Rodrigo is as sexy and alpha a hunk as any one woman could handle; he's positively scrumptious. As the book progressed, his love for her expanded to fill each page and each encounter with so much kindness and caring I wanted to crawl through the pages and embrace him myself. The intensity crackled between them every time they were alone. And he'd made sure they'd have plenty of time to be alone when he whisked her away to his estate where they fell into the deeply caring love that can only grow from a connection on so many levels including humor, attraction, and true friendship. When they finally did share intimacy, it was as beautifully written and romantic, as all of Olivia's love scenes are, seamlessly integrated into the book, patient and intense. But this one held a special surprise you'll have to read yourself to find out.

Emotionally compelling on every page

Although the setting may be different from her previous Silhouette Desire releases, Olivia Gates still delivers an enthralling story brimming with genuine emotions and appealing characters. There is never an instant when you are not completely engrossed in each new revelation, as they are all cleverly disclosed and grab your total attention. BILLIONAIRE, M.D. is compellingly emotive during every breathtaking scene. When Cybele Wilkinson awakens, she is confused yet believes she can trust the man who is talking to her. Though she does not recognize him, she feels drawn to the heartfelt emotion behind his plea to try and speak. She comes to learn she is in a hospital because of a plane accident, and it seems to have caused her to be suffering from amnesia. Her surgeon is Rodrigo Valderrama, a renowned Spanish doctor, and he reluctantly admits after a time that she is a widow plus talks to her about her early term pregnancy. What he does not tell her right away is how he knew her before the mishap. From the time he worked to save Cybele after the accident and during the days after she woke up with no memories, Rodrigo keeps his real feelings to himself and hides how much he has cared for her since their first meeting. As she slowly regains her strength and can finally be dismissed from the hospital, Cybele agrees to recuperate at his home when it is given as the only option in being able to leave. Though her injuries continue to heal, she desperately wants answers to the many questions which constantly plague her, while Rodrigo worries about her reaction when she does discover the whole truth about her past. Any book by Olivia Gates is emotionally compelling at all times. There is fervent passion behind every response, both sexual and even when sentiments are conveyed through actions, words or just thoughts. Ms. Gates is a master when it comes to letting her readers sense the innermost feelings of her characters, and her expert skill has never been more apparent than in BILLIONAIRE, M.D. From the very first attention-grabbing scene and during each ensuing scenario, the emotional scale is set on high and keeps climbing because of uncertainties plus unspoken truths. There are a myriad of secrets in this story, several deliberate and others involuntarily hidden, and they all dramatically contribute to your reading enjoyment. I do not know when I have been as stunned by numerous unforeseen turns, and Ms. Gates certainly divulges these twists with much unexpectedness. Rodrigo and Cybele are extremely memorable, as the many internal conflicts in their lives cause countless emotional issues for them to overcome. The potent longing these two feel for the other just fuels any reaction and is communicated by how they respond to the various developing situations. Once again Olivia Gates has done it! Billionaire, MD had me bawling my eyes out! Tears of joy mixed with the pain experienced by her characters of course!! Right down to the last page! Sighh. Such wonderful, lovable, embraceable characters. I've read it twice already!! Thank you Olivia Gates! For: Making me cry! Dang. Was a hero or heroine ever so worthy of a happy ever after! (As I wipe away fresh tears just thinking about them!) Giving us complex characters so in tune with today's modern sensibilities while at the same time retaining the strong moral values of bygone times. Introducing a new and exotic character name to the world of romance. Cybele - Mother Earth. (A name I definitely plan on using within my own family.) Making this book such a worthwhile read (and re-read) instead of a regrettable loss of a few hours. Acknowledging that romance novel readers are not silly women incapable of understanding technical medical jargon. Continuing to demonstrate how to write a full, complete, complex, steamy and hot story within the framework of the Silhouette Desire boundaries. It's frustrating to find so many authors who don't have this knack and provide only stories riddled with plot deficiencies in order to accommodate the various criteria. Then tragedy strikes Cybele and Mel. Cybele is married to Mel Braddock who is also Rodrigo's best friend. On their way to visit Rodrigo they are involved in a plane crash.
