Great selection of healthy snacks or small meals

This 107 page book packs quite a large number of tasty, snacks that are relatively healthy and a step-above your usual canned soup and nacho and salsa, suitable for older children, with relatively few steps. For starters, "Not-Yo nachos" with two types of homemade salsa (tomato & mango), veggie dip, bean dip, stuffed mushrooms, hummus, deviled eggs, corn chowder, pumpkin soup, among others. Fruit recipes include popsicles made with real fruit & yogurt, fruit juice jello, and berry soup. Heartier fare includes chicken tacos, chicken fingers, 7 layer burritos, shrimp with dips, quesadillas, spaghetti pie, tuna salad, mac & cheese, pad thai, green tomatoes, various omelets, double baked potatoes, Snacks include flavored popcorn, trail mix, roasted pumpkin seed Desserts cover apple pancake, cherry crumble, apple crisp, baked banana, cocoa rice pudding, and fruit salad.

Great book!

I saw this book in our library and checked it out for ideas of snacks to make for the crowd at my house. My kids saw it, grabbed it and headed to the kitchen to check out what ingredients we had. It's been a big hit here! We checked it out so much I finally had to buy our own copy. It has easy-to-understand directions, color pictures, and cute comments that are right on target for this age group. I'm going to purchase the rest of Dunnington's books for my kids. You can't go wrong with this!
