Heartfelt Read!

I loved everything about this book! The characters were written in a way that you could visually see them, which made the emotions and actions from each of them more real. My emotions were definitely evoked while reading this well crafted story. Sometimes I caught myself holding my breath wondering what was going to happen next, while other times, I felt my forehead wrinkle and my eyebrows coming together from being so angry from what a character had done. At other times, I caught myself saying “awww” out loud while feeling sad for a character. I’ve never done the virtual video recording games, but through this story, I now have a sense of what it could be like. The author places you and your emotions right there in the middle of everything as the depiction of his (characters) come alive. I love books that are so vivid that you feel as though you are reading a movie. In other words, it’s (euphoric) when the author’s writing gives you the feeling that you are seeing a movie at the theater, but at the same time, places you inside the story as a bystander or character yourself! The adding of the author’s own poetry used as writings through one of his characters is so creative, and his play on words within some of the poetry pieces was artistic! If you’re an avid fiction reader and enjoy being pulled into a story than Beyond Poetry is a book for you. Everyone from teens on up will enjoy this read, as you will find that you’ve experienced some of the same things as the characters. Beyond Poetry was a book that I couldn’t put down. This was one of those books, like a good movie, you don’t want it to end, and the author leaves you hungry for more!
