My boat "Elsewhere" was lost to a reef in Aur Lagoon in the Marshall Islands. We had spent ten years on that boat sailing the Pacific from San Francisco to Ecuador and then across through the fabulous islands of the South Pacific; all the way to Tonga and then north to the Marshall Islands. Brokenhearted we returned to the States, but I was not ready to quit. My wife Judy was done. Ten years was enough. However she would turn me loose for two or three months in the following years to continue my life at sea on a part time basis. I hooked up with the folks on Serafin and traveled with them to Vanuatu and New Caledonia. The following year I returned to Serafin and crewed for them taking the boat from Darwin Australia to Bali, just wandering leisurely through the exotic outlying islands of Indonesia. In subsequent years I joined an old friend on Hawkeye and sailed with him from Majuro through the incredible islands of Micronesia, the most wonderful places of all my sailing experience. Another year we sailed on to Palau and finally to the Philippines. This book is sort of the sequel to my first book, Sailing Elsewhere, which told the story of our first ten years afloat.
