When Prue Halliwell died fighting the Source, her sisters were heartbroken. But soon they discovered Paige Matthews, their long-lost half sister. Now the Charmed Ones are fighting evil again. Original.
I've always enjoyed "Charmed", both the TV series and the tie-in novels, when the story is set at Halloween, and this tale is no exception. C.K. Piers, a young witch heartbroken by the tragic death of her fiance exactly one year earlier, casts a spell from a mysterious grimoire, hoping to bring him back. The spell fails and C.K. runs away in despair. But the spell has unexpected consequences -- buildings start melting and portals start opening in the barrier between the physical and spirit worlds. The Halliwell sisters and their significant others must unravel this mystery before the unthinkable -- the end of the world -- happens.
Piper, Phoebe, and Paige are well represented here with their sisterly bond and trademark banter. Piper's Whitelighter husband Leo and Phoebe's ex-demon lover Cole have good supporting roles. However, I would have liked a bit more detailed description of C.K. Also, while Piper's offering her Halloween cookies to Detective Anderson is a kind gesture, it would also be considered a gratuity, something a policeman or detective would politely decline.
All in all, this is a well-written "Charmed" tie-in novel, one of the better ones. I would recommend it to any fan of the original 1998-2006 series.

First off, thank you for the inspiring reviews..I am one of the authors of this novel, but the publishing company spelt my first name wrong! How funny is that. I co-wrote this book with a talented and experienced friend of mine, and I was only 16 years old when we began the project. (I am now 19). Anyways, I just wanted to respond to all of the readers that wrote the reviews and thank them. I would love to get in contact. My email is queansidhee@yahoo.com...thanks Jaclyn

As Halloween rolls around again, Paige is very much into the holiday spirit. Dressing up as what people think a witch looks like, and handing out candy. But this year, Samhain, a Wiccan celebration, brings along destruction of the city of San Francisco. Buildings throughout San Francisco are actually melting, and, upon further investigation, the Charmed Ones soon figure out that the buildings being melted are actually dimensional portals, that someone is trying to open up. Paige, Piper, and Phoebe now have to secure these barriers, in order to save the world as we know it. But there's a problem, the demon working against them isn't actually a demon. It's a wraith, which was the product of a grief-stricken young witch, looking to bring her dead fiance back from the dead. This is the first CHARMED book in which I have read, and I am not at all disappointed. The books cover more than the TV show, which is a nice addition, and Weiss and Wilson wrote in such a believable way, that you actually feel like you're there with the Charmed Ones. A great book for teens, or fans of CHARMED, especially around All Hallows' Eve, a.k.a. Halloween.Erika Sorocco

A few nights before Halloween a women casts a spell to restore a riven heart, to bring back her dead fiance back from the dead. The Charmed Ones must find out what's behind the mystryious melting building. Includeing P3. They find the person who casts the spell and also a very evil book. The De Vermis Mysrtriss. Piper Phobe and Paige have only one chance to vanquish the evil and save their innocent. And, with Leo and Cole not around when it's time for them to vanquish the evil what are they going to do?

I've read a lot if not all of the Charmed novels, and some really feel like a episode of the show. This is one of them. "Between Worlds" has the magic of the show, and the sisters. It also has a "Halloween feel" to it since it starts off around that day. So who knows reading it in October before Halloween could really be fun, it was for me.

3 days before halloween, a young witch casts a spell to bring back her dead fiance. the spell goes horribly wrong. she brings back the wraith of a powerful demon who will stop at nothing to get his revenge. the charmed ones meet the young lady and are determined to help, but even with the help of a whitelighter and an ex-demon, this villian may be too powerful for them to overcome.this book was just awesome. it gave leo and cole nice roles in the book and even touched on the subject of prue. since i was devastated when shannen doherty left the show 2 years ago, i think it is nice when a book touches on the sister who died and stop acting like she is gone forever. i know the tv show has to but as a writer of novels, one can go places the tv show cannot.
