Perfect for couples

LOVE this cookbook. We have many "family favorites" from this book. I was looking for a cookbook to use after the kids left home and this was the winner of all of them that I bought. Great EASY recipes that are quick to whip up after a log workday. Easy to double for company also. The Lemon Dill Chicken is "to die for" and incredibly easy. We have given away many to workmates and family--everyone gets one!

Everything to love in a cookbook!

This cookbook has it all - the spiral binding that makes it lay flat so you can consult it while your hands are full; beautiful pictures of every recipe; nutritional information for those of us trying to eat more healthfully; an easy-to-use index! The recipes really ARE simple, as the name implies; they don't ask for you to hunt down obscure ingredients, nor do they expect you to know how to perform professional chef miracles either. This is for the everyday cook, who doesn't have a ton of time to devote to cooking but who does love a good, healthy, easy meal.

Wonderful cookbook for a busy family

I love this book! Everything is easy to make. Lots of the ingredients are food most people keep as staples. I also like that there are plenty of photos which is always a bonus in a cookbook. I think kids will like most of the recipes. This is a must have for any one who has a family to cook for.

Quick and Easy Cooking!

Are you busy? Do you want to eat something other than fast food from a drive-thru? Well, this cookbook might be for you! I picked up this book at my local library, and will be adding it to my collection. No, it is not Martha Stewart. But, included in this colorful cookbook are over 300 recipes to put dinner on the table in 30 minutes or less. Yes, the recipes do contain canned goods, frozen vegetables, and packaged side dishes. However, if you are looking for a quick meal with items from your freezer and pantry, give some recipes a try. Most of the recipes have full color photographs (a big bonus for any cookbook!), a spiral binding that easily lays flat, and information on prep time and bake time. Another thing that this book includes (which many cookbooks lack) is nutrient information including calories, fat grams, sodium, and Diet Exchanges. Some of my family's favorites include: Ramen Stir-Fry, Countryside Pasta Toss, Orange Teriyaki Beef with Noodles, Easy Cheesy Vegetable Soup, Key Lime Fruit Salad, and Tex Mex Pizza. Enjoy!

Don't know where to start? This is the book for you!

I have read the other testimonies and I can understand where some are coming from. This book is not magic. It's not meant to be the end-all to other cookbooks. But, in my opinion, it's an important book to have if you are a beginner and/or just don't know how to make certain things that are pretty basic. I'm not a huge seafood eater but I think it's important to be well-rounded in your knowledge of basically everything, and this book does it well. Even if you don't eat meat, dairy, etc. this is the chance for you to expand your cooking abilities and substitute other stuff. Which brings me to my concluding thought: This is just meant to help you start dinner. Sure, add seasoning, add sugar or salt or heck, even add a piece of fruit or two. It's a starting point that gives you the freedom to expand on. Also, the best part (to me) is that all the nutritional information is at the bottom, so you know what you are eating. All in all, cookbooks can be pretty lame. This one is fun, easy and has pictures for many of the recipes! What more do you want? Alice from the Brady Bunch?
