Love this book

Worth it alone for the raisin swirl bread. Won at the Lake County IL Fair.

Brings back good memories

This is so homey with wonderful recipes from the 20th century. I was a child of the 50's and 60's with a mom who made the best baked goods. Definitely a lot of meals and pastries from a wonderful era.

Classic Betty Crocker

The recipes are basic classics. I love this book. It contains the taste and ingredients you think of when you mention comfort foods like mama used to make. Most will use ingredients you are apt to have on hand. This one is definitely a keeper!!

basic and great

My mom gave me this book when i got my first apartment, it got lost and i found one at an old garage sale- beat to sXXX, but the recipies are simple or complicated depending on how advanced you are, it even has how to make hard boiled eggs. I always go to it when i need a standard how long to cook this or that, recipies can easily be made with most of the ingredients- when you want to make something but can't get to the store(and have most of the ingredients) this is an all around standard!! great, mine is really beat up and the origianl never showed up so now i am looking for a replacement.

Excellent easy to follow recipes with beautiful pictures.

I have owned this cookbook since it first came out and every recipe I have tried has come out fabulously. I would highly reccomend this book to anyone who enjoys cooking.
