I was new at reading romance novels, I liked more action and suspense. This book did not fail at all! I liked how the author wrote the story, easily making the book flow and the characters believable! The story centers around a young woman named Abbie. Her Uncle urged her to marry his godson Bart Cavanagh, thinking that they make an excellent match. However, reluctant to this idea, Abbie wearily agrees. However, she finds Bart in a compromising situation with another woman, and decides to call of the engagement! Sometime after she goes to live with her Godmother in Bath. there she is surprised to see Bart there escorting his mother and sister for the season. He doesn't understand why she hates him so much, but continues to be intrigued with her. over the course of the book they get to know each other better and as the plot thickens, they learn that they can not survive each other, even if they don't know it!!! Overall, I loved this book. The romance was believable and the characters were so likeable. Abbie is a strong, intelligent, confident woman who knows what she wants and how to get it!! Bart, is handsome, charming, smart and a good guy underneath whatever rakish behaviour he shows. I recommend anyone read this book!
