Beswick Animals Charlton 9th Edition compared to 8th Edition
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 17 years ago
I recently purchased the 9th Edition(use it for the horse section mainly), having sold my 8th Edition. Bad mistake: I (perhaps naively)didn't realise that the coloured photo plates of the figurines would vary between the editions. Now wish I'd retained the 8th Ed. For some reason the paper quality doesn't feel quite as high quality, but I could be mistaken(!) Some of the black and white photos are not as clear as in the 8th Edition. Disappointed that there doesn't seem to be any new information in the horse section, and some of the mistakes are repeated. (eg Pg 232 the Appaloosa Stallion Colorway No.2 a.Original Issue is listed as 'cream hooves', but there are plenty of these with striped hooves in fact). In summary: I think it is worth buying for the new figurines depicted in the colour plates.
