63 of the best and most exciting worsted weight designs for comfort, ease and stress-free knitting! This description may be from another edition of this product.
After browsing a friend's copy of this book, I just had to have one for my very own. It has patterns for sweaters, vests, baby knits, accessories and afghans, all made with worsted weight yarn. The directions are written clearly and in a fairly large type, for us not-so-young knitters. My only complaint is that there are no charts for the lace and/or cable patterns.
very useful

Worsted here refers to yarns getting a gauge of about 4.5 sts to the inch. Many yarns fit into that category and the editor suggests trying other yarns (and also in the future with yarns not yet for sale). Most of the patterns have schematics. There are really basic type patterns here so that you can use the schematics with your own design. The first third of the book is about baby patterns up to size 18 months and include sets with blankies, sweaters, hats, etc. The second third ia about gifts which include scarves, hats, socks, etc. The final third is wearables meaning sweaters, shrug, vests and also several afghans. I didn't find anything to crochet. I bought the book for a yellow vest which is really lovely but in addition there's another vest knit straight up which is quite useful. Many items are knit in cotton yarns. There are several excellent patterns in the various sections. The pictures are well done also. This is a very useful book to have around.
A nice variety of worsted weight patterns.

I like this book, it has a nice variety of patterns for all ages, and some different stitch patterns and levels. A good value.
