Quite a Collection

Bruce, Cara (editor). "Best Fetish Erotica", Cleis Press, 2009. Quite a Collection Amos Lassen "Best Fetish Erotica" opens the closet door to the world of fetishes. Stories by 21 authors look at the variety of fetishes from the usual and common to the most bizarre and lurid. The stories are well written and there is lots of sex. Sexual fetish has always been a bit of a mystery and this is one of the best anthologies on the subject. Authors include Susie Bright, Alison Tyler, Marcy Sheiner, Greg Wharton, Thomas Roche, Rachel Resnick, Raven Caldera and others. This is some of the sexist porn ever written by some of the biggest names in erotica. There are stories of all kinds from underwear to girdles and spankings to more surprising fetishes. All professions and all races are represented and the book is very hot. By and large there is a lot of literary criticism here and there is wonderful detail. I have always found fetish to be an intriguing topic and it found humor as well as substance in this anthology. One of the ways I judge erotica is if a story has the same sensual effect on subsequent rereadings and most of these easily passed that test. Of course in any collections not every story will please everyone and that is one of the reasons that I do not write about favorites. Overall the collection is great and I highly recommend it.

excellent erotica anthology

One of the best erotica anthologies I've come across in a long time. Unique, fiery, blazing, bizarre, sexy, and strange tales unlike any you've read before. Stand-outs for me include Tom Piccirilli's "Horsepower," a beautifully written, honest, and dark account of a "vanilla pudding" guy caught up in his love of cars and a powerful attraction to a weird woman. He packs so much into the story I'm still surprised at how short the piece is. Other favorites include works by Jerry Stahl (a short but hilarious tale, really), Susie Bright, J. T. Leroy, and Carol Queen. Highly recommended. Five stars. Bravo to editor Cara Bruce.
