Excellent resource

Choosing baby products can be overwhelming, especially for first time parents. As always, Consumer Reports emphasizes safety, as well as economy. It will make shopping for baby easier!

Any parent who wants to be a wise shopper needs this

Parents only want the best for their children. "Best Baby Products: The A to Z Guide to Everything You Need for Your Baby" is a guide from the well-known Consumer Reports magazine. Parents are commonly faced with huge amounts of products targeted toward their children, and it is tough to figure out what's good, what's bad, and what's dangerous. Any parent who wants to be a wise shopper needs "Best Baby Products".

Excellent baby gear and safety resource

I've read other baby-gear books, but Consumer Reports Best Baby Products is by far the best for providing detailed how-to buy advice. I've just started using it to research what to buy for my baby and what to register for and it has been invaluable for what not to buy as well. There's so much stuff out there. I've already saved a ton of money by not buying a crib bumper set, as the book suggested, or the $789 stroller I had my eye on. The book says that quality strollers start at around $150. I don't know what I'd do without this book. I'm so glad my neighbor, who is a mom herself and a pediatrician, recommended it to me. You can't go wrong with Consumer Reports trusted advice, either.

a great get-organized guide

I had a whole list of what to buy for my twins (due any day), but I had to revamp it after I read Best Baby Products. The book made me rethink what I needed, what I didn't and even pointed out products on the market that are actually unsafe. The product ratings were helpful, too, in terms of helping me narrow the field and determine what's safe and what performs highly in product testing. Definitely worth the $16.95, or whatever you pay for it.

Buy this book for the unbiased advice

I bought this book for my daughter who just gave birth to our first grandchild three weeks ago. I chose it because it has Consumer Reports behind it. My daughter has used it to buy a crib and a mattress and safety gates as well as a new car. The other books tell you what to buy based on their testing, but I don't know how they can compete with Consumer Reports, when they're not a major consumer advocacy organization who has been in business for decades. My feeling--when it comes to babies, especially my grandchild, go with the pros!
