Bellamy: The Princely Demon Who Sought Psychotherapy

Christian fiction at its finest. Psychologist Mackenzie Maguire is in love with Tony Vargas, a Santa Fe sculptor. But it's her books about God and personality that arrest the attention of Kingpin, a.k.a. Satan. Hell is depopulating at an alarming rate, and Maguire is a contributing factor. Kingpin commands Prince Bellamy, "Go to Earth and destroy this Maguire dope before I lose any more converts to that loathsome trinity: dogface, the upstart, and...

Spellbinding Christian Fiction!

I'm not a big fan of novels, but a friend read this book to me out loud. I found it as addicting as pretzels, and kept asking for the next chapter. It reminded me of how C. S. Lewis wrote fiction to capture the great struggles between good and evil, heaven and hell. The Montgomery's style is so nuanced that I experienced the characters three-dimensionally like I was right there with them. Bellamy, the princely demon on one last assignment before receiving a fancy retirement package in "Serenia" (Hell). Psychologist Mackenzie Maquire, whose Christian faith Bellamy seeks to destroy by entering therapy with her. And, behind the scenes, a very suave Kingpin (Satan) who is at war with the Holy Trinity, whom he and his minions deride as Dogface ("God" spelled backwards"), the Upstart (Jesus), and Tweetie Bird (the Holy Spirit). I found the novel provocative, unpredictable, and immensely satisfying. I hope there is sequel soon!

A Very Enjoyable Read

A suspenseful yet comic novel in the fashion of C. S. Lewis' "Screwtape Letters," only the setting is the twenty-first century and the stakes pit Prince Bellamy, Satan's prudish and quirky right-hand man, against Santa Fe psychologist Dr. Mackenzie Maguire. Her books are bringing too many people to know dogface, the upstart, and tweedie bird (Satan's sardonic names for the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Bellamy has been promised an early retirement in Serenia (Hell) if he can destroy her faith. A very enjoyable read.

A Can't-Put-It-Down Novel

This is a can't-put-it-down novel that had enough evil to grip me and enough good to keep the stakes high. The characters came alive as though I actually knew them. Prince Bellamy. Hacker. Princess Lascivia. Dr. Mackenzie Maquire. Tony Vargas. I chuckled on most pages and felt surprised throughout. The ending I never saw coming. This book works on a hundred levels!
