Book Overview

Other books about faeries are just that - books about faeries, filled with myths and stories. This book is uniquely different. It is a modern day instruction manual directly from the mystical realm... This description may be from another edition of this product.

pure delight

oh! this is the most FABulous book. it's not much like other faery books reallie. first of all, it's written by someone from Brooklyn, and she has a very different perspective on things. Definitely a part of Faery that needs attention. anyway, this book is mostly about joy. and how faeries can help you find your joy. if you lost it. or if you set it down, and it wandered off. it's been known to do that... it shows you how to love things and accept things, and it explains three of the most important rules in the universe. i don't know how you couldn't love it.

Takes the reader upon an inspired journey

Charmingly illustrated by Tom Cross, Marcia Mager's Believing In Faeries: A Manual For Grown Ups takes the reader upon an inspired journey into the elusive realm of nature spirits. A unique and very highly recommended addition to any personal or metaphysical studies reference collection, Believing In Faeries is an outstanding and "reader friendly" manual of informative instruction focuses on the mystical realm and is a rare, experiential journey into a kingdom governed by ancient principles and powerful truths capable of changing the reader and shaping the planet itself.

A profound and moving book -- fun, too!

Loved this book, plain and simple. It touched my heart, made me laugh, deepened my sense of wonder. If you've ever thought that flower garden or forest contained something so much "more," this book will definitely make you a true believer. And it really doesn't matter if you take the book literally or as a metaphor. It's lovely, inspiring message is what matters in the end. I'm going to buy copies for everyone I care about who loves nature and the earth!

Findinf Faeries

Each chapter of this book took me further into the land of faeries and out of my own structured view of life. By the end, I was anxious to go out on my own hunt for the faerie kingdom. A special rose garden that I always stop and admire has become all the more exciting to me. I talk to them and many times, the roses have nodded their heads to me even though there wasn't a wisp of a breeze. I could actually feel the energy in the air and I know that one day soon, I shall see a flicker of light. There is a whole new appreciation for all things in nature after reading this book. Thank you Marcia, for putting together such a delightful, easy to read, and eye opening book. I look forward to having grandchildren so I can read it to them and then they can show me the faeries that they see! A great book for those who have lost the magic in their lives.

Believing in Faeries - a text book for adults

This is an excellent guide to how to access the Hidden Kingdom of faerie. Marcia has presented us with an intriguing and fascinating series of ways in which we humans can once more get in touch with the other world which exists alongside our own.To achieve this contact, Marcia has given details of seven doorways through which we can pass, if we are willing to use them. However, forget the Victorian picture of tiny, slim females in gossamer dresses, hovering on dragonfly wings - this is a book about the real fairies who look after plants and trees and who can be destroyed by unthinking humans. The holistic picture of the overlapping worlds and how they fit into a single whole, easily appreciated by children but not always recognised by adults, will immediately ring bells for any student of Wordworthian Romanticism. For the less academically minded, we have a sensible, adult-minded approach to what is often dismissed as a subject suitable only for the junior section of the library. Thanks, Marcia! This book needed to be written, and it is an excellent addition to the bookshelves of anyone who takes an intelligent interest in the Hidden Realm.
