More than just a book for preemies!

This is a tender, moving and realistic account of the perseverance of love and the preciousness of life. Not only is it a testament to advancements in pediatric care, it's meaningful to children and families who were blessed with healthy births. This sweet book teaches compassion, and ambition in the face of adversity. A warm and satisfying book to read with your kids -- "Believe" has become a bedtime favorite in my house!

A wonderful book for children about premature babies.

This is a wonderful uplifting book which would be especially reassuring to siblings and cousins of a premature baby. I think it's a " must have" book for children who were premies themselves. Through beautiful illustrations and thorough knowlege of the struggle of these babies, the reader is led to never forget the power of a Mother's love, and to never give up.

A tribute to the bond between mother and child

This book is wonderful for parents of preemies and for the medical professionals caring for them. As a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse I know that all too often the importance of a mother's touch, and the individuality of the infant, are forgotten. I keep a copy of this book on my bookshelf to help remind me never to forget that mom is sometimes just as effective as technology, and certainly more important. This book does a wonderful job of discussing the long-term outcomes of "preemiehood" and makes those things seem minor in the scheme of things. It shows that even though preemies are not always "normal," they are always unique and special. No matter how many times I read it, this book never fails to bring tears to my eyes, because sometimes belief in a preemie truly is the most essential tool for their survival and success.
