The following pages are a collections of short stories, told by a prison guard in a maximum security prison during the years 1970-1972 at the Joliet Correctional Facility, in Joliet, Illinois. These stories were told to family, friends, and co-workers for over thirty years. I believe these stories tell of another side of life that most people can't imagine, and I pray they never find out about.I always had this terrible need to write these stories. The stories in this book are all true but I'm not convinced they tell the whole truth, there were stories left out, that were too dark to tell. Some stories went to a place I didn't want to remember.I do know how to end these stories; and that is to say, the Good Lord watched over me; without Him, there would be not stories to tell.Love, Fredric R.
