Enjoyed. Bounces between different perspectives of characters

Has an aspect of....metaphysical? That's the word I'll use. I like it real. Clearly I'm not the best with words. Still enjoyed the book. Will pass along to a friend.

Ending is INSAAAANE!

Majority of this was pretty slow moving in my opinion & I struggled to get through it but OMG, THAT ENDING! I could have never expected anything like it, I’m truly mind blown & amazed. If you find yourself struggling to get through it, keep going, the ending makes it worth it lol! You’ll really be sitting there like WTF.

One of the best books I've ever read.

I am not easy to please when it comes to book plots. I could not put this one down. First of all, it is a mystery the entire time. It is suspenseful and honestly scary at some parts and it just makes you want to find out what is going on. I am notorious for guessing how books and movies are going to end. I can guess an ending so easily. This one got me. There is no way anyone could guess what was going to happen on the last few pages. This book is so underrated and the plot twist at the end is unmatched. Honestly speaks for itself since they made a Netflix series out of this book. Two words. Read. It.

Not as good as they say

The ending was awful and even though the rest of the book was mediocre what the ending showed about the rest of the book made the whole thing uninspiring.. Not worth reading

Bored

Don't waste your time. This book is science fiction and oh so boring.

Ugh, just Ugh!

It started off pretty good & went downhill from there. If you like reading about drinking wine on every page & the “F” word on every other line, maybe this book is for you.

Addicted at the first page. Shocked at the last chapter. Couldn’t put it down.

A slow-moving train wreck you never saw coming.

I bought this book 3 years ago and finally decided to read it. British author, not my usual fare, but it moves along well and I did find one of the main characters, Louise, to be likeable and believable. The story is told by three different characters, either Then or Now, as noted by each chapter, so it's easy to keep things straight. The premise is pretty freaky, and now that I've finished the book, I'm still thinking about it and the totally unexpected ending. It answered so many questions, and introduced so many more. I can't say it's bad writing, because I read a lot of books and I couldn't put this one down. I hope her other books are this this off-putting, because I'm going to try one or two more and see.

A bestseller????? Why?????

Do NOT waste your money. I like well-written psychological thrillers - this is neither. The psychology is laughable and the writing is never engaging. I was bored to tears by the eighth chapter. I skipped to the end and read the juvenile and laugh out loud last chapters. This book proves that anyone can get a mediocre cringe-worthy book published. Dreck!

Keeps you wondering

First time I have read Sarah Pinborough but it definitely won't be the last. If you don't like jumping between characters or time sequence don't bother with this one. I was a little aggravated at first and put it down but finally continued to read one of the best books I've read in a while. The ending is completely unexpected and makes the entire book make sense lol. I will be looking for more of her books

Do Not Waste Your Time & $$ On This

This story started out believable, suspenseful & kept me reading; but very disappointing plot & ending that made no real sense. I think the author couldn’t think of a believable plot & so created one that did not make any sense.. Waste of my time..Skip this one..

This book was pretty darn close to perfect; kept me engaged, kept me asking questions and needing to know the answers. The end is brilliant; never saw it coming!

Really enjoyed this novel. The whole time you are wondering what the characters will do next. The whole book is one huge twist. I really enjoyed this book but it also made me a bit sad. Great novel!
