I found this book to be a breezy read and a good refresher course on kindness and consideration. The author reminds us of what we (hopefully) already know...in marriage (as in parenting, friendship, volunteer work, office politics, etc.) criticism RARELY works. Kind words, thoughtful discussions, clear communication and looking for the best in others (this does include our spouse!) is the key. I think a man could read this book (with the genders reversed) and get just as much from it. I did not find it sexist in the least. If you want a more extreme and entertaining book, try "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands". If you want a complete flip side of this book, try "It's Mostly His Fault".
Funny and inspiring

As you have come to expect from John Bytheway, this book is both insightful and humorous. He keeps his book light and readable while addressing heavy and often sensitive issues. This book will stay on my bookshelf (except when I'm rereading it). Great reading and thinking material for wives.
