Hal's biggest problem besides the belief confusion is Zack, his alter ego and imaginary friend who lives in his mind and replies to all of his questions. Wanting to get rid of Zack, Hal starts a science fiction story featuring Zack as the main character, aboard a ship heading deeper and deeper into outer space. Will this get rid of Zack or does Hal need Zack more than he thinks? --The confusing thoughts of a teenager are brilliantly displayed in this great and funny book. --Marisa
