A few years after moving back to Newark, New Jersey, the city that he was born in, from San Antonio, Texas, with his mother, brother, and stepfather, Zakee began his criminal career as a smalltime car thief and burglar. Yet, the little money he made from those crimes wasn't enough for him; and for that reason alone, he left the puny lifestyle of stealing cars behind him to sell weed for Stuffy, the neighborhood weed dealer.
However, after making just enough money to start hustling on his own, Zakee talked Sex, a friend of his, into giving him his allowance to add to what he had already saved up.
